For the last 12 years, I am trying to push the concept of HEALTHY LIVING into people’s minds because of the conviction that if one takes care of his health then he will be requiring our Health Care System minimally.  As you all know very well that we doctors are trained from the beginning of our medical career to deal with diseases. Health was not a part of our curriculum. Because of my personal encounter with ill health, I could understand the value of health, but it was a very difficult journey for me to identify the path and walk through it.  What I realized, 12 years back was a very simple thing i.e. health is wealth . We doctors neglect our health mostly for a reason that if we don’t act then we will be held responsible for the outcome.   Everyone needs to be able to do this (EVERYONE) I realized health was an issue for most people not long after I had my health episode! The Day I promised myself to look after my health and plan my days, I set with a diary to plan out my schedules, but after struggling for hours I came to a conclusion that the years in medical school and my practice had made me an excellent disease-care personal and health was just the opposite to it. Everything that happened to me screamed, “You’re gonna suffer!” But I was just stubborn enough to make it by relearning things that were important to me. Some of my doctor friends in my hospital used to make fun of me when I started teaching about healthy living principles to people way back in 2010. I was a workaholic till 2010. I used to be in the operation theatre for 16 to 18 hours a day. I had only one thing in mind ... if I am not going to operate on this patient then the patient might die. In the end, it proved dangerous to me as I got a dangerous warning sign from the higher power and unknowingly I was dragged into a situation where everything to me was looking dark I never made much money out of my hard work but 12 years of practice drained my body all its vital power.   Health doesn’t get better by Hope,  It gets better by planning Health . If you want to be healthy then study, learn and act for Health. Do not try to have health by chance. Make it an everyday event by following certain health rules. You have to study and practice health, in such a way that it can change your economic, social, spiritual, personal life. The things you think coming on the way to health, have the will to change it. INSPIRATION “Hey, guys and gals... I have decided to become a doctor when I grow up”, a small eight-year-old boy was telling his friends in excitement. I was assigned to prepare an obituary video documentary on doctors, who lost their lives while treating COVID patients of Rourkela and its vicinity. It was an activity of JP Hospital and IMA Rourkela city branch. This allowed me to peep into their personal life, their dreams, their aspirations, achievements and visions.  I went through the interviews with their close relatives, colleagues and friends. The more I went on creating the video, the more restless I became because of the inference I drew from their life. Most of them went into the grave with lots of their dreams unfulfilled. Someone has rightly said the graveyard is the costliest place on earth as lots of great dreams are buried there.
